PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Rockall, Humber, FitzRoy, Sole. The Shipping Forecast is a much-loved part of British culture and a staple of BBC Radio. Carefully recited to a technical formula, the forecast is weather turned into poetry.
This map was originally hand-drawn with dip-pens and ink, and it shows the BBC Radio 4 / Met Office Shipping Forecast regions, including their coordinates, and the coastal weather stations of the British Isles. The Inshore Waters, the Beaufort Scale, and maritime signal flags are also included, and the map is adorned with many decorations such as ships, a whale, a gannet, and an old-fashioned radio playing Sailing By - the much-beloved music always played before the 00:48 forecast.
This map is a limited edition print out of a run of 200, printed on high-quality 300gsm paper with long-lasting pigment inks. It is signed and numbered by the artist - Kevin Sheehan.

The map is sold with a mount (mat-board) in black, ivory, navy or slate, sized at A2 (420x594cm), which is a standard frame size.
