PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Limited edition prints of "Blue Lobster" an original watercolour painting by Bryony Caswell. 

This painting shows the European lobster Homarus gammarus. This striking image uses blues, oranges and gold to show the brilliant and very detailed lobster emerging from a rocky crevice surrounded by pink and orange marine life. The background uses watercolours to create watery affects. The original painting is highly textured using acrylic, texture paste and wax. Iridescent and metallic paints  are used to make the lobster shimmer. Thus, the shells are painted using metallic paints, inks and gold leaf.

  • The original painting uses iridescent watercolours and metallic inks. And to transfer this effect every print is individually hand-finished by Bryony using iridescent mediums and paints - this makes her sparkle when catching the light (see the close up images for these effects).
  • These are high quality giclee reproductions printed on 350 gsm William Turner Hahnemule paper (making it thick almost like card) with a textured surface - resembling the original painting.
  • Part of a limited edition run of 150 prints, each is numbered, signed and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
  • Prints are packed in film bags (bio-based and biodegradable) with archival quality acid-free backing boards protect prints from chemical changes that can affect the colours.
  • Available in A4 and A3
  • Framed prints are also available, these are framed under glass in a white acrylic frame, with a white textured mount. The framed size measures 28 cm x 33 cm, by 1.8 cm depth. The painting is ready to hang and has a back-stand so it can be free-standing if you prefer. The Limited edition certificate is included inside with the framed image.
