PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Limited edition 16cm x 16cm print of an original watercolour painting by Bryony Caswell. "Boxer crab" uses blues and reds and is inspired by Boxer crabs (aka pom pom crabs), Lybia spp., a small and fascinating species of crab found on tropical reefs, they carry stinging anemones in their claws to deter predators and competitors. The happiest crab is one that's waving around two anemones. 

  • The original painting uses watercolours, and iridescent paints on 300gsm watercolour paper. To transfer these effects every print is individually hand-finished by Bryony using iridescent paints - this makes it sparkle when catching the light (see the close up images for these effects).
  • These prints are high quality giclee reproductions printed on 285 gsm Hahnemuhle Torchon paper (making it thick almost like card) with a textured surface - resembling qualities of the original painting.
  • Part of a limited edition run of 150 prints, each is numbered, signed and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
  • Prints are packed in film bags (bio-based and biodegradable) with archival quality acid-free backing boards protect prints from chemical changes that can affect the colours.
  • Framed versions are also available, framed under glass in a white acrylic frame with a white textured mount. The framed size measures 25.5 cm x 25.5 cm, by 2.5 cm depth. It is ready to hang and has a back-stand so it can be free-standing if you prefer.
