PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Limited edition prints of an original watercolour painting by Bryony Caswell. Original watercolour painting by Bryony Caswell.

"Ammonites" uses golds, bronze, midnight blue, purples and reds to depict Jurassoic ammonites present in the rocks of North Yorkshire. These accumulations of flattened golden ammonites are common in North Yorkshire coastal sections, and may reflect mass mortalities during Jurassic climate change and stagnant ocean conditions. This is the first of a series, that is very experimental using different mediums, metallic and iridescent paints to build up relief and convey the beautiful shiny pyritised Harpoceras ammonites against the dark organic rich mudrocks. The printed image measures 16 cm x 16 cm with a 2.5 cm border.
  • The original painting is highly texture, using watercolours, texture paste, metallic acrylics and glass paints on 300gsm watercolour paper.
  • These are high quality giclee reproductions printed on 285 gsm Hahnemule Torchon paper (making it thick almost like card) with a textured surface - resembling qualities of the original painting.
  • Part of a limited edition run of 150 prints, each is numbered, signed and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
  • Prints are packed in film bags (bio-based and biodegradable) with archival quality acid-free backing boards protect prints from chemical changes that can affect the colours.
  • Framed versions are available: these are framed under glass, in a black acrylic frame with textured white mountboard.
