Handmade Silver Circle Earrings on Sterling Silver Hooks Featuring Wildflower And Grasses Design

A pair of handmade, round shaped, silver earrings using 100% recycled silver featuring a wildflower and grasses textured surface.

These round silver dangly earrings showcase a design taken from a drawing by Esther of the wild flowers and grasses that spring up in meadows around Sowerby, West Yorkshire.  She was then able to create a texture to push in the wet silver clay allowing the earrings to take on the design, echoing the full of different species of wildflower.  

The front of the earring features the wild flower and grass design, raised above a smooth flat silver surface - each pair of earrings differs slightly depending on which part of the design is used.

The silver Esther Priestley uses is all 100% recycled silver, mainly in the form of silver clay as this allows textures and patterns to be pressed into the pieces before they are fired in a kiln. Then using traditional silver smithing techniques other parts are added. (Silver Clay has a high silver content, and can actually be hallmarked as 999 Fine Silver rather the slightly lower 925 content of Sterling Silver.)
