Handmade Silver Rockpool Pendant with Shells, Starfish and Gemstone

This handmade pendant is a one-off creation and features a flat, open disc of smooth polished silver decorated with tiny silver shell embellishments, a small silver sea star and a tiny sparkling Cubic Zirconia (CZ) gemstone. The shells have been made by Esther using moulds made of actual shells discovered on the Yorkshire Coast.

The silver Esther Priestley uses is all 100% recycled silver, mainly in the form of silver clay as this allows textures and patterns to be pressed into the pieces before they are fired in a kiln. Then using traditional silver smithing techniques other parts are added. (Silver Clay has a high silver content, and can actually be hallmarked as 999 Fine Silver rather the slightly lower 925 content of Sterling Silver.)
