Hull Bygones A5 Framed

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This is a print of my original watercolour illustration inspired by Hull's history as one of the biggest fishing ports in the world. Featured in the painting is the famous Arctic Corsair, with trawler man casting a net showing the names of the three Trawler's included in the triple trawler tragedy of 1968. Behind the trawler is the famous Lillian Belocca, who, after the tragedy fought for and eventually changed the rights of the safety of the fisherman at sea along with other women known as the 'Headscarf Revolutionaries'. Next to this depicts a row of famous pubs the fishermen would frequent on Hessle Road including Rayner's, The Vauxhall Tavern, The Criterion and The Dairycoates Inn.
