Viking Britain Map Tea Towel

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

A fascinating and detailed map of Viking Britain. Originally drawn by hand by artist Kevin Sheehan of Manuscript Maps, it is here presented as a high-quality 100% cotton tea towel.

The map depicts the British Isles between 789 and 1066 AD, charting the history of Norse and Danish raids, invasion and colonisation of Britain and Ireland. The geography is unusually turned sideways with west at the top to show the perspective of the Vikings sailing towards Britain, and to have space for a beautiful inset map showing Jorvik — York, the capital of the Danelaw — as it would have appeared around 900 AD.
The map includes over 100 settlements, over 50 battle sites, and a timeline chronicling three centuries of history, and is decorated with ships, a compass rose and Odin's two ravens.
Perfect for anyone interested in this fascinating era of medieval history.
