The evil eye (also known as the Turkish eye) is a traditional Mediterranean amulet that provides protection by warding off bad luck and negative energy believed to radiate from envious gazes. Ladybugs are also called "lucky bugs" in Turkish and are believed to bring luck to those they land on.
